Author Guidelines

 

Papers submitted for publication in the Arab German Journal of Sharia and Law Sciences (AGJSLS) must conform to the following guidelines:

  • Papers should discuss the themes of Sharia and Law Sciences or related themes, written either in Arabic, English or German.
  • Papers must be typed in one-half spaced on A4-paper size.
  • Papers’ length is by category about 6,000-10,000 words (not including the references).
  • All submission must include a 200-250-word abstract, in both Arabic and English.
  • Full name(s) of the author(s) must be stated, along with the institution and complete address.
  • All submission should be in OpenOffice, Microsoft Word file format.
  • Bibliographical reference must be noted in footnote. When a source is cited for the first time, full information is provided: full name(s) of author(s), title of the source in italic, place of publication, publishing company, date of publication, and the precise page that is cited. For the following citations of the same source, list the author’s last name, the title, and the specific page number(s).
    The word ibid. is used, but op.cit., and loc.cit. are not.
  • All papers are going through peer review process after preliminary assessment, and the Editor-in-chief reserves the right to accept or refuse any manuscript, whether by invitation or otherwise, and to make suggestions and/or modifications before publication.

 

Please consider the following criteria:

  • The title of the article submitted for publication in the Arab German Journal of Sharia and Law Sciences (AGJSLS) should reflect a specific focus of study.
  • The article submitted should be based on research work, whether the article is original, theoretical, review or any other kind.
  • Submissions must be original and unpublished artwork, or submitted elsewhere.
  • The article should present bibliography which entails primary sources.
  • Authors must disclose all possible conflict of interest.
  • Authors must disclose all financial support (funding, grants, sponsorship).
  • Tables should have serial numbers, submitted in separate file each be presented on a separate page, portrait (not landscape) orientation, legends should be written in both Arabic or English.
  • Figures should have serial numbers, submitted in separate file each be presented on a separate page, portrait (not landscape) orientation, legends should be written in both Arabic or English.

 

Article types accepted

  • Original Articles

An Original Article is the report of a study written by the researchers who actually did the study. the researchers describe their hypothesis or research question and the purpose of the study. It includes full Introduction, Methods, Results, and Discussion sections.

 

  • Review Articles

A review article is an article that summarizes the current state of understanding on a topic. A review article surveys and summarizes previously published studies. Reviews commonly cite approximately 50-100 primary research articles.

 

  • Theoretical Articles

A theoretical article contains or refers to new or established abstract principles related to a specific field of knowledge. These articles do not contain information about a study or experiment the author(s) completed

 

  • Book Review

A book review is a description and analysis of a new book

 

  • M. A. and PhD Thesis Summaries

A summary of a thesis is like an abstract of a research paper. Basically, the purpose of the summary is to give the reader an overview of the main points of your thesis. The summary should include the following points: What is the thesis about?. What is the purpose of the thesis?. What were the methods used to research the information?. What are the results, conclusions, and recommendations that the thesis presents?. Also, it generally follows an introduction-body-conclusion structure.

 

  • Commentaries and Letters to the Editor

A commentary relates to feedback related to a specific article.

A letter to the editor relates to a broader issue related to the journal overall.

 

  • Technical Reports

A technical report is an article that describes the process, progress, or results of technical or scientific research or the state of a technical or scientific research problem. It might also include recommendations and conclusions of the research.

 

  • Conference proceedings and abstracts

A conference proceeding is the published record of a conference, congress, symposium, or official meeting, usually including abstracts or reports of papers presented by the participants. When the entire text of the papers presented is included, the result is called transactions.

  1. Copyright of the article is transferred to the Arab German Journal of Sharia and Law Sciences (AGJSLS), by the knowledge of the author, whilst the moral right of the publication belongs to the author.

Formal legal provisions to access digital articles of the electronic journal are subject to the provision of the Creative Commons Attribution Non Commercial Share Alike 4.0 International, which means that the Arab German Journal of Sharia and Law Sciences (AGJSLS) is rightful to keep, transfer media/format, manage in the form of databases, maintain, and publish articles.
  3. Published manuscripts both printed and electronic are open access for educational, research, and library purposes. Additionally, the editorial board is not responsible for any violations of copyright law.

 

Processing and Publishing charge

Birne Publishing House supports the publishing costs of Arab German Journal of Sharia and Law Sciences (AGJSLS), there is no article processing or publishing charge. The authors and the reviewers do not charge any fees for publishing in the journal or reviewing the articles.
