Abstract
The political participation of young people in Morocco has been linked to the nature of the changes in the political and electoral scene, but it remained in general confined to a limited insight that limits the political role of young people to narrow aspects without enabling them to have actual opportunities to enter representative institutions and influence public decision, despite the adoption of some discriminatory measures to motivate young people to exercise their rights. They did not contribute in the required way to improving their position in decision-making bodies.
This study discusses indicators of political empowerment of youth in Morocco in light of the transformations of the electoral legislation and the fluctuations of the political field. And the adoption of an integrated package of measures to enhance the access of young people to elected bodies, and to enable them to play an influential role in the political scene that has long been dominated by party elders, according to mechanisms that are not related to democratic stakes.
